Job Overview

The Open University of Sri Lanka is inviting suitably qualified candidates to attend a Walk-In Interview for the Post of Lecturer (On Contract). The selected candidate will be attached to the Department of Social Studies and must be available full-time at the Colombo Regional Centre in Nawala.

Educational Qualifications

  • Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Youth Studies, Social Work, or Psychology.
  • The degree must be completed with a First or Second Class Upper Division, or a higher qualification obtained from a recognized university.

Key Requirements & Skills

  • Candidates must have the ability to teach and develop lesson materials effectively in the English medium.
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required for the selected candidate.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate familiarity with Open Distance Learning (ODL) and Information Technology (IT).

Remuneration & Contract Details

  • Salary: A fixed monthly allowance of Rs. 62,000/- (inclusive of the Cost of Living allowance).
  • Benefits: The candidate will be entitled to EPF and ETF contributions.
  • Duration: Appointments are initially made for a period of six months, with the possibility of being extended up to two years based on performance.
