Job Vacancy: Data Scientist (Advanced Analytics) – Sampath Bank

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and validate machine learning models to solve complex business problems.
• Process and analyze large-scale datasets using Apache Spark for big data pipelines.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze multi-source data.
• Apply statistical methods and experimental designs (such as A/B testing) to validate hypotheses and model accuracy.
• Translate intricate technical results into actionable business insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Lead end-to-end analytics use cases from initial problem framing to production deployment.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to pinpoint data science opportunities that drive business impact.

Key Requirements & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist.
• Track Record: Proven delivery of at least 3 advanced analytics use cases from ideation to production.
• Core Technical Stack: Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, SparkMLlib) and strong SQL querying skills.
• Big Data & Math: Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and deep comprehension of statistical concepts and ML algorithms.

Other Competencies Required

• Familiarity with enterprise cloud data platforms such as Databricks or Cloudera.
• Understanding of MLOps practices, including model deployment, monitoring, and versioning.
• Practical exposure to containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Strong communication skills to bridge technical execution with business strategy.
