The Institute of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IBMBB) of the University of Colombo invites applications from suitably qualified persons for multiple academic and support staff positions.

Focus: Laboratory Attendant (Grade III)

1. Qualifications & Eligibility Requirements

• Route A: Passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six (06) subjects with at least two (02) credit passes in not more than two sittings, AND holding a proficiency certificate not below NVQ Level 2 or 3 relevant to the function issued by a TVEC-accepted training institute.

  OR

• Route B: Passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six (06) subjects with at least two (02) credit passes in not more than two sittings, AND having one (01) year of working experience in a relevant field with industrial skills.

• General Conditions: Citizen of Sri Lanka, aged between 18 and 45 years, physically and mentally fit, and of excellent moral character.

2. Salary Scale & Benefits (Laboratory Attendant)

• Salary Code: U-PL 2 (III): Rs. 44,575 - 16 x 490 - 52,415 p.m., plus approved government allowances for the university system.

• Provident & Pension Funds: Member of the Universities Provident Fund (UPF - 10% employee contribution, 7% employer contribution), University Pension Scheme (8% employer contribution), and Employees' Trust Fund (ETF - 3% employer contribution).

• Probationary Period: 3 years.
