Assistant Engineer

Qualifications: 

External Candidates (1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 below)

1.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Civil/Electronic/Electrical Engineering which is recognized by the UGC.

2.Associate membership of Institute of Engineers of Sri Lanka.

3.Having obtained a certificate of proficiency in Mechanical/ Electrical/Electronic/Civil Engineering not below the National Vocational qualification Level 7 issued by a Technical Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.

4.Having obtained a certificate of proficiency in Mechanical/ Electrical/Electronic/Civil Engineering not below the National Vocational qualification Level 6 issued by a Technical Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission. (NDT / HNDE / NDES or similar) 

AND

At least five (05) years post qualification experience in a relevant field in a Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution or reputed private Institution.

5.Having obtained a certificate of proficiency in Mechanical/ Electrical/Electronic/Civil Engineering not below the National Vocational qualification Level 5 issued by a Technical Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.

AND

At least ten (10) years post qualification experience in a relevant field in a Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution or reputed private Institution.

Internal Candidates (1 or 2 below)

Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates above.

Completion of minimum five (05) years satisfactory service in a post of the Management Assistant – Technological (MA 2-2) Grade II in the subject area relevant to the post in Sri Lanka Institute of Textile and Apparel.

Age Limit

Should be not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years. The upper age limit will not apply to internal candidates.  

Salary Scale:

JM 1 – 2 – 2025:   Rs. 74,010/- 10 x 1,360 – 18 x 2,040 – 124,330/-

As per Schedule II of DMS Circular No. 01/2025, your basic monthly salary for the year 2026 will be Rs. 66,781/-, and government-approved, statutory allowances will be added.
