Role Overview
Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC is inviting driven, career-focused individuals to join Sri Lanka’s most respected bank as an Agriculture and Microfinance Business Development Associate. In this role, you will be on the front lines of driving financial inclusion, engaging directly with agricultural entrepreneurs, rural communities, and grassroots micro-enterprises to empower local economies with modern banking solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Outreach & Client Sourcing: Identify and engage agriculture and micro-entrepreneurs within assigned branch outreach areas to introduce and provide tailored banking and credit services.
- Community & Strategic Partnerships: Develop and execute ground-level strategies to partner with local micro-entrepreneur groups, cooperatives, and community-based organizations.
- Branch Liaison: Bridge community needs with bank operations by onboarding prospective clients and directing microfinance opportunities through the local branch network.
- Portfolio Development: Support financial literacy and business development among rural and semi-urban entrepreneurs to expand the bank’s microfinance footprint.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Age: 25 years or below.
- Educational Qualifications:
- Passed G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) examination in one sitting with "C" passes for Mathematics and English.
- Passed G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) examination.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and field-relationship-building skills.
- Proactive attitude with a passion for grassroots economic empowerment and field-level banking operations.
- Familiarity with the local agricultural landscape and regional business ecosystems is an advantage.
