Assistant Farm Manager

Position Summary

• Role: Assistant Farm Manager

• Location: Kiula (Puttalama – Mahakumbukkadawala), Sri Lanka

• Company: Noorani Estates (Pvt) Ltd (NelFarms)

• Employment Type: Full-Time (Willingness to reside at Kiula Farm and respond to operational emergencies)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead facility readiness, commissioning, and start-up checklists.

• Supervise daily commercial grower husbandry, flock welfare, feeding, water, and vaccinations.

• Implement veterinary programmes, biosecurity, disinfection, hygiene, and farm safety controls.

• Plan manpower, rosters, induction, training, productivity, and employee supervision.

• Control feed, medicines, consumables, inventory, maintenance, and equipment readiness.

• Monitor grower uniformity, mortality, feed consumption, costs, and farm KPIs.

• Coordinate with the COO, veterinary, QA, maintenance, HR, and supply chain teams.

• Maintain accurate farm records, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: BSc or Diploma in Animal Science, Agriculture, Livestock Management, or Poultry Production.

• Experience: 3-5 years’ poultry farming experience, preferably in commercial layer/grower operations with staff supervision.

• Core Competencies: Strong knowledge in grower husbandry, egg production, flock welfare, biosecurity, inventory, people leadership, Excel, and KPIs.

• Additional Preferences: Poultry management and biosecurity training advantageous; valid Sri Lankan driving licence preferred.

• Language & Soft Skills: Good Sinhala and working English; able to reside on-site and handle operational emergencies.
