Qualifications & Experience

For External Candidates (Option 1 or 2):

• Option 1:
• A UGC-recognized Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• AND a UGC-recognized Master’s degree (Masters) in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• WITH at least 15 years of managerial-level experience in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering within a public sector institution, corporation, statutory board, or recognized commercial organization.
• Option 2:
• Full corporate membership (Chartered status) from a recognized professional engineering institution in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• WITH at least 15 years of managerial-level experience in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering in a public corporation, statutory board, or recognized commercial entity.

(Note: Having published books or papers relevant to the field will be considered an additional qualification.)

For Internal Candidates (Option 1 or 2):

• Meeting the eligibility qualifications specified for external candidates above.
• OR having completed a minimum of five (05) years of satisfactory service in Grade 1 of the Civil/Mechanical/Electrical engineering service within the Manager category (MM 1-1).

Remuneration & Fringe Benefits

• Basic Salary: Rs. 140,640 – 202,140 (HM 1-1 – 2025)
• Allowances: Cost of living allowance and government-approved professional allowances issued via periodic circulars.
• EPF & ETF: Corporation contributes 15% to the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) (employee contributes 10%) and 3% to the Employees' Trust Fund (ETF).
• Other Perks: Official transport allowance, fuel allowance, and communication/telephone allowances in accordance with government circulars.

General Eligibility & Conditions

• Age Limit: Must be not less than 35 years and not more than 55 years of age as of the closing date (upper age limit does not apply to internal applicants).
• Citizenship: Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Character & Health: Applicants must possess excellent moral character, with sound physical and mental fitness to serve in any part of the island.
• Public Sector Applicants: Candidates currently employed in Government Departments, State Corporations, or Statutory Boards must route their applications through their respective Heads of Institutions.
