Applications are hereby invited from permanent and confirmed employees of the University system for various vacant posts at the University of Vavuniya. (Note: Employees holding permanent cadre posts should not be allowed to apply for another permanent post during their probationary period according to Establishments Circular Letter No. 03/2013).

Available Positions & Salary Scales

1. Audit Assistant Gr. II

  • Salary Scale: U-MN 2 (II) – Rs. 61,275 - 18 x 890 - 77,295 p.m.

  • Selection: By Interview

  • Key Requirements: G.C.E. (O/L) in 6 subjects with credits in Sinhala/Tamil, English, and Mathematics; G.C.E. (A/L) passed in all subjects at one sitting; professional qualifications such as CA Sri Lanka (Preliminary/Licentiate/Foundation/CAB I/Executive), CIMA Foundation, HNDA (SLIATE), or AAT membership; plus minimum 2 years of auditing experience in a state corporation or recognized private organization.

2. Technical Officer (ICT) Gr. III

  • Salary Scale: U-MT 1 (III) – Rs. 51,095 - 7 x 540; 10 x 640 - 60,575 p.m.

  • Selection: Written and/or practical test and an interview.

  • Key Requirements: G.C.E. (A/L) in 3 subjects in one sitting plus a certificate of proficiency not below NVQ Level 5 in IT, ICT, or Multimedia Technology.

3. Technical Officer Gr. II Seg. 'B'

  • Salary Scale: U-MT 1 (III) – Rs. 51,095 - 7 x 540; 10 x 640 - 60,575 p.m.

  • Selection: Aptitude test and interview.

  • Key Requirements: G.C.E. (O/L) passes with 5 credits including Science and Mathematics (or equivalent institutional service criteria as a Trainee Technical Officer).

4. Nursing Officer Gr. II

  • Salary Scale: U-MT 1 (III) – Rs. 51,095 - 7 x 540; 10 x 640 - 60,575 p.m.

  • Selection: By Interview

  • Key Requirements: G.C.E. (O/L) in 6 subjects with 3 credit passes in not more than 2 sittings plus a certificate of competence as a Nurse recognized by the Sri Lanka Medical Council.

5. Management Assistant (Shroff) Gr. III

  • Salary Scale: U-MN 1 (III) – Rs. 49,475 - 17 x 540 - 58,655 p.m.

  • Selection: Written Examination and Interview

  • Key Requirements: G.C.E. (O/L) with credits in Sinhala/Tamil, English, and Mathematics; G.C.E. (A/L) passed in all subjects at one sitting including Accountancy.

6. Management Assistant (Store Keeping) Gr. III

  • Salary Scale: U-MN 1 (III) – Rs. 49,475 - 17 x 540 - 58,655 p.m.

  • Selection: Written Examination and Interview

  • Key Requirements: G.C.E. (O/L) with credits in Sinhala/Tamil, English, and Mathematics; G.C.E. (A/L) passed in all subjects at one sitting; plus 1 year of store-keeping experience or a pass in Commerce at O/L or Accountancy at A/L.

7. Security Inspector Gr. III

  • Salary Scale: U-MN 1 (III) – Rs. 49,475 - 17 x 540 - 58,655 p.m.

  • Selection: By Interview

  • Key Requirements: G.C.E. (O/L) qualifications with 5 credits (including language and arithmetic/mathematics) or university system service criteria; minimum 5 years of satisfactory service in Police, Armed Forces, or recognized security service; active participation in sports; height not less than 5'4", chest not less than 34".

8. Supervisor (Maintenance) Gr. III

  • Salary Scale: U-MN 1 (III) – Rs. 49,475 - 17 x 540 - 58,655 p.m.

  • Selection: Written Examination and Interview

  • Key Requirements: G.C.E. (O/L) qualifications or institutional service length criteria plus at least 3 years of experience in labour supervision.

9–12. Electrician Gr. III / Mason Gr. III / Carpenter Gr. III / Plumber Gr. III

  • Salary Scale: U-PL 3 (III) – Rs. 48,005 - 16 x 490 - 55,845 p.m.

  • Selection: Trade Test and Structured Interview

  • Key Requirements: Confirmed employees of Primary Level Unskilled (U-PL 1) with an NVQ Level 4 certificate in the respective trade, OR confirmed semi-skilled/unskilled employees with 5 years of relevant experience proven at a trade test.

13. Laboratory Attendant Gr. III

  • Salary Scale: U-PL 2 (III) – Rs. 44,575 - 16 x 490 - 52,415 p.m.

  • Selection: Trade Test and Structured Interview

  • Key Requirements: Confirmed Primary Level Unskilled employees meeting specific O/L and NVQ Level 2/3 criteria or industrial work experience.
