Management Assistant, Driver, Legal Officer

Applications are invited from qualified citizens of Sri Lanka for the following vacant positions in the Model Coconut Estates (Plantations) Service of the Coconut Cultivation Board.

Available Positions, Salaries & Requirements

1. Legal Officer (Management Service - MM 1-1)

• Workplace: Head Office

• Salary Scale: MM 1-1 (Rs. 69,169 - initial step configuration as per circular 01/2025)

• Age Limit: 22 to 45 years (Upper age limit not applicable to internal candidates)

• Qualifications:

  • A degree in Law recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC); OR being a government attorney with professional qualifications from Sri Lanka Law College; AND minimum 1 year of post-qualifying experience in a government, corporation, board, or recognized private institution.

2. Field Officer (Management Service - MA 2-3)

• Workplace: Island-wide

• Salary Scale: MA 2-3 (Rs. 52,700 initial salary step)

• Age Limit: 18 to 45 years (Upper age limit not applicable to internal candidates)

• Qualifications:

  • G.C.E. Advanced Level with at least 2 passes including Agriculture/Plantation Management/Agri-Business Management, along with a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 5 or above proficiency certificate in a relevant technical/vocational field recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).

  • Valid riding license for motorcycles issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic, computer literacy, and knowledge of an additional language.

3. Management Assistant (Management Service - MA 1-1)

• Workplace: Island-wide

• Salary Scale: MA 1-1 (Rs. 46,220 initial salary step)

• Age Limit: 18 to 45 years (Upper age limit not applicable to internal candidates)

• Qualifications:

  • G.C.E. Ordinary Level passed in 6 subjects in a single sitting with 4 Credit passes including Sinhala/Tamil, Mathematics, and English Language.

  • G.C.E. Advanced Level passed in at least 3 subjects (excluding General Paper) in a single sitting.

  • NVQ Level 4 or above proficiency certificate in MS Office usage recognized by TVEC.

4. Field Assistant (Primary - Skilled PL-3)

• Workplace: Island-wide

• Salary Scale: PL-3 (Rs. 43,280 initial salary step)

• Age Limit: 18 to 45 years (Upper age limit not applicable to internal candidates)

• Qualifications:

  • G.C.E. Ordinary Level passed in 6 subjects in not more than two sittings with at least 2 Credit passes; OR NVQ Level 4 certificate in the relevant field recognized by the Vocational Education Commission.

5. Backhoe Operator (Primary - Skilled PL-3)

• Workplace: Island-wide

• Salary Scale: PL-3 (Rs. 43,280 initial salary step)

• Age Limit: 18 to 45 years (Upper age limit not applicable to internal candidates)

• Qualifications:

  • G.C.E. Ordinary Level passed in 6 subjects in not more than two sittings with at least 2 Credit passes.

  • Valid heavy vehicle driving licence issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic, proficiency in operating backhoe machines, and an NVQ-04 certificate in backhoe operation proficiency.

6. Driver (Primary - Skilled PL-3)

• Workplace: Island-wide

• Salary Scale: PL-3 (Rs. 43,280 initial salary step)

• Age Limit: 18 to 45 years (Upper age limit not applicable to internal candidates)

• Qualifications:

  • G.C.E. Ordinary Level passed in 6 subjects in not more than two sittings with at least 2 Credit passes.

  • Valid heavy vehicle driving licence and four-wheel tractor driving licence issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic.

  • Minimum of 3 years of driving experience after obtaining the driving licence.

Additional Benefits

• Cost of living allowance of Rs. 17,800/- plus other government-approved allowances apply to all posts.

Selection Procedure

• Selection is based on a written competitive examination and/or a structured interview conducted by a board appointed by the appointing authority.
