Senior Assistant Auditor

Applications are called by the Audit Service Commission for 02 vacancies in the post of Senior Assistant Auditor-General – Class I (Executive Service Category) in the Sri Lanka State Audit Service on a direct stream basis.

Position Summary

Salary Scale (AS 03 - 2025)

• Monthly Salary Scale: Rs. 86,950 - 10 x 2,400 - 8 x 2,940 - 17 x 3,900 - Rs. 200,770/-

• Initial Salary Step: Rs. 138,370/- (Salaries will be paid in accordance with Schedule III of Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025 until 01.01.2027). Plus government-approved allowances.

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Professional Qualifications

• Associate Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) OR the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA - UK).

2. Experience

• External Candidates: Must have at least twelve (12) years of executive-level service experience in the relevant field after obtaining the primary professional qualifications.

• Internal Candidates (Sri Lanka State Audit Service): Must have twelve (12) years of experience in an executive post. (Periods of half-pay/no-pay leave are excluded; must be free from disciplinary punishments).

3. Age Limit (As of 23rd November 2026)

• Minimum Age: Not less than 35 years

• Maximum Age: Not more than 45 years (Born between 1981.11.23 and 1991.11.23). Note: Upper age limit does not apply to officers already in the public service.

4. General Prerequisites

• Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka with a stellar character, sound physical and mental health, and not be a religious clergy member.

Selection Procedure

• Selection is based on the order of merit of marks obtained at a Structured Interview conducted by an Interview Board appointed by the Audit Service Commission.

• Scoring Categories:

  • Additional Educational Qualifications: Max 25 marks

  • Additional Professional Qualifications: Max 20 marks

  • Experience in the relevant field: Max 40 marks (5 marks per year)

  • IT / Computer Literacy Qualifications: Max 5 marks

  • Performance at Interview: Max 10 marks

  • Total: 100 marks
