The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Project Assistant (On Contract) to serve at the Colombo Regional Center located in Nawala, Nugegoda, within the Department of Chemistry.

Position Summary

  • Role: Project Assistant (On Contract)

  • Department: Department of Chemistry

  • Duration: Initially for six (06) months, extendable up to four (04) years based on performance.

Key Responsibilities & Role Overview

  • Provide administrative and project-based assistance to the Department of Chemistry at the Colombo Regional Center.

  • Handle documentation, reporting, and communication tasks in both English and Sinhala.

  • Undertake translation tasks from English to Sinhala as required by the department.

  • Support computer-based tasks, typing, and desktop publishing activities for project operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Qualifications

  • A BSc. Degree with Chemistry as a subject from a recognized university; OR

  • An equivalent qualification in Chemistry from a recognized institution.

Skills & Competencies

  • Good command of English and Sinhala languages, encompassing reading, writing, and translation capabilities from English to Sinhala.

  • Effective interpersonal communication skills and basic computer literacy.

  • Added Advantage: Prior experience in desktop publishing and typing.

Remuneration Package

  • Fixed Monthly Allowance: Rs. 40,000/= (inclusive of EPF & ETF).
