Job Overview

• Organization: Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA)

• Employment Type: Permanent (Entitled to EPF and ETF)

• Salary Scale (Grade/Salary Code - SG3): Initial basic step of LKR 53,425/= with annual increments of LKR 1,150/= (Approx. total monthly gross salary around LKR 132,000/=).

Available Positions & Qualifications

1. Work Superintendent (Civil) – Colombo / Galle / Trincomalee

• Vacancies: 08 Posts

• Educational Qualifications: Passed G.C.E. (Advanced Level) examination in three (03) subjects at one and the same sitting, AND possess a Higher National Diploma in Engineering (HNDE), National Diploma in Technology (NDT), Higher National Diploma in Technology (HNDT), National Diploma in Engineering Sciences (NDES), ED-OUSL, City & Guilds, or an equivalent diploma recognized by the government or the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).

• Experience: Minimum of three (03) years of experience as a Work Superintendent or in a similar capacity in a government or recognized private institution.

2. Instructor Demonstrator (Civil)

• Vacancies: 01 Post

• Educational Qualifications: Passed G.C.E. (A/L) in three (03) subjects at one sitting, AND a relevant Civil Engineering diploma (HNDE, NDT, HNDT, NDES, ED-OUSL, DTec-OUSL, City & Guilds Advanced Diploma, or TVEC-recognized equivalent).

• Experience: Minimum of five (05) years of experience in a similar capacity in a government or recognized private institution.

• Mandatory Requirement: Trainee Instructor Certificate. (Preference given to candidates with training experience and English proficiency.)

3 & 4. Instructor Demonstrator (Equipment Operations)

• Positions:

  • Instructor Demonstrator (Equipment Operations - Gantry / Transfer Crane) - 01 Post

  • Instructor Demonstrator (Equipment Operations - Prime Mover / Forklift) - 01 Post

• Educational Qualifications: Passed G.C.E. (A/L) in three (03) subjects at one sitting, AND a recognized technical/engineering diploma (HNDE, NDT, HNDT, NDES, ED-OUSL, DTec-OUSL, City & Guilds Advanced Diploma, or TVEC equivalent).

• Experience: Minimum of five (05) years of experience in a similar capacity in a government or recognized private institution.

• Mandatory Requirements:

  1. Grade 'A' Driving Instructor Certificate and Licence.

  2. Trainee Instructor Certificate. (Training experience and English proficiency are preferred.)

5. Instructor Demonstrator (Maritime and Seamanship)

• Vacancies: 01 Post

• Educational Qualifications: Passed G.C.E. (A/L) in three (03) subjects at one sitting, AND a National Diploma in Technology (NDT), National Diploma in Engineering Sciences (NDES), Advanced Diploma in Nautical Engineering / Maritime Science, or equivalent.

• Experience: Minimum of five (05) years of experience in a similar capacity in a government or recognized private institution, including at least one (01) year of sea-faring experience as a seaman on vessels under 3000 gross tonnage engaged in Near Coastal Voyages (NCV), supported by valid certificates issued or recognized by the Director General of Merchant Shipping, Sri Lanka.
