The Department of Excise of Sri Lanka is inviting applications from qualified individuals for the post of Technical Officer Grade III on a contract basis.

Salary Scale & Allowances (MN 03-2025 / Public Administration Circular 10/2025)

• For the year 2026: LKR 67,002/= (49,202/= + 17,800/=) per month

• For the year 2027: LKR 70,050/= (52,250/= + 17,800/=) per month

Educational & Professional Qualifications

1. Educational Qualifications:

• G.C.E. (A/L): Passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination in a single sitting across three subjects belonging to the Science, Mathematics, or Technology streams, including two subjects relevant to the field.

• G.C.E. (O/L): Passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination in a single sitting across six (06) subjects with credit passes for Sinhala/Tamil/English language, Mathematics, Science, and one other subject.

2. Professional Qualifications (Any of the following):

• National Diploma in Technology (NDT) offered by the University of Moratuwa or Hardy Advanced Technical Institute, Ampara.

• National Diploma in Engineering Sciences (NDES) offered by the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA).

• Higher National Diploma in Engineering (HNDE) offered by the Ministry of Education / Higher Education.

• Two-year Diploma in Agriculture recognized by an institution accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).

• Technical Diploma offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka.

• Successful completion of Part 1 of the Engineering Examination conducted by the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL).

• National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 6 qualification relevant to the job field.

• Alternative technical qualifications recognized by the TVEC as equivalent to the above technical qualifications after consultation with the Ministry of Higher Education.

• Note: Relevant field experience will be considered an additional advantage.

• Age Limit: Applicants must be not less than 18 years and not more than 60 years of age.
