Key Responsibilities

As the Director of Finance, your core duties will include:

• Financial Strategy & Planning: Lead financial strategy, annual budgeting, medium-term planning, cash-flow forecasting, and management reporting.

• Compliance & Governance: Oversee financial statements, statutory compliance, taxation, external audits, internal controls, and financial risk management.

• Treasury & Asset Management: Manage treasury, banking relationships, liquidity, investments, and foreign-currency exposures within approved policies.

• Cricket Operations & International Tours: Provide financial oversight of international tours, tournaments, cricket development programmes, and infrastructure investments.

• Commercial Finance: Oversee commercial finance for broadcasting rights, sponsorships, event income, receivables, and major contracts.

• Procurement & Systems: Strengthen procurement controls, delegated authorities, expenditure monitoring, and financial systems.

• Stakeholder Reporting: Ensure appropriate accounting and reporting of ICC distributions and other restricted or designated funding.

Required Qualifications & Experience

To qualify for this executive leadership role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Professional Membership: Full professional membership of CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent recognized professional accounting body.

• Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline.

• Experience: At least 12–15 years of progressive finance experience, including a minimum of 5 years in senior financial leadership.

• Core Skills & Competencies: Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, governance, internal controls, and regulatory compliance, paired with strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management capabilities.

Additional Advantages: An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification; prior CFO/Finance Director experience; exposure to sports administration, large commercial operations, international transactions, ERP transformation, or major procurement/capital projects.

Reporting & Accountability

The position reports administratively to the Chief Executive Officer, with financial reporting and appropriate escalation to relevant governing and audit/finance committees in accordance with SLC’s approved governance framework.
