Sri Lanka Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment (SLAB) Vacancies 2026

Applications are invited from eligible citizens of Sri Lanka for the following vacancies at the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment (SLAB), the National Accreditation Authority for Sri Lanka established under Act No. 32 of 2005 and operating under the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development.

  • Employment Type: Permanent (Subject to a 03-year probationary period for external candidates; 01-year acting period for confirmed internal candidates)

Available Positions & Eligibility Criteria

1. Assistant Director (Accreditation) – 05 Posts

  • External Candidates:

    • A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or Engineering recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

    • AND at least one (01) year of post-qualifying experience in accreditation, conformity assessment, systems auditing, and related activities in the Public Service, a Corporation, a Statutory Board/Institution, or a recognized private institution after obtaining the first degree.

  • Internal Candidates (Must fulfill 1 or 2):

    1. Fulfill the qualifications required for external candidates above; OR

    2. Completion of at least five (05) years of satisfactory service in a post of the Junior Manager (JM 1-1) category within the relevant subject field.

  • Salary Scale: MM 1-1-2025 — Rs. 91,690 – 10 x 2,480 – 15 x 3,450 – Rs. 168,240/= (Monthly)

  • Age Limit: Not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years (Upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates).

  • Confirmation: External appointees to Grade II of this category are subject to a 03-year probationary period and must pass the 1st Efficiency Bar Examination.

2. Assistant Director (Finance) – 01 Post

  • External Candidates (Must fulfill Option 1 or Option 2):

    • Option 1: A degree in Finance, Accounting, Financial Management, Business Administration, Business Management, or Commerce recognized by the UGC, AND at least one (01) year of post-qualifying experience in the relevant field after obtaining the first degree.

    • Option 2: Passed the Intermediate Examination of a recognized professional Chartered Institute in a relevant subject field, AND at least one (01) year of post-qualifying experience in the relevant field.

  • Internal Candidates (Must fulfill 1 or 2):

    1. Fulfill the qualifications required for external candidates above; OR

    2. Completion of at least five (05) years of satisfactory service in a post in the Junior Manager (JM) category in a relevant subject field.

  • Salary Scale: MM 1-1-2025 — Rs. 91,690 – 10 x 2,480 – 15 x 3,450 – Rs. 168,240/= (Monthly)

  • Age Limit: Not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years (Upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates).

3. Management Assistant (Non-Technological) – 01 Post

  • External Candidates:

    1. Passed the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination in six (06) subjects at one sitting with Credit Passes (C) for four (04) subjects, including Sinhala/Tamil, English Language, and Mathematics.

    2. AND Passed three (03) subjects (excluding the Common General Test) at one sitting at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in the Science, Mathematics, Technology, or Commerce streams.

    3. AND Completed a six (06) month certificate course in Computer Applications from a recognized institution.

  • Internal Candidates:

    • Employees in Primary Grade - Skilled, Semi-Skilled, and Unskilled categories who have passed G.C.E. (O/L) in six (06) subjects at one sitting with four (04) Credit Passes including Sinhala/Tamil, English Language, and Mathematics.

    • AND Completed at least five (05) years of satisfactory service in a permanent post in the above employee categories, along with a 06-month certificate course in Computer Applications from a recognized institution.

  • Salary Scale: MA 1-2-2025 — Rs. 46,220 – 10 x 540 – 7 x 630 – 12 x 1,080 – 12 x 1,280 – Rs. 84,350/= (Monthly)

  • Age Limit: Not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years (Upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates).

  • Confirmation: External appointees to Grade III of this category are subject to a 03-year probationary period and must pass the 1st Efficiency Bar Examination.

General Requirements & Selection Procedure

  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.

  • Physical & Mental Fitness: Must possess sound physical and mental fitness to perform the duties of the post and to serve in any part of the island.

  • Character: Must be of excellent moral character.

  • Recruitment Method: Selection will be made through a written competitive examination and/or a structured interview conducted by a panel appointed by the Governing Council of the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board.

  1. Step 01 – Online Submission: Visit the official SLAB website at www.slab.lk and complete the online Google Form application.

  2. Step 02 – Print & Post: Once the Google Form is submitted, a copy of the completed application will be sent to your email address. Print the received application and send it along with certified copies of certificates verifying your basic qualifications via Registered Post on or before November 06, 2026.

  3. Envelope Marking: Clearly write the name of the post applied for on the top left-hand corner of the envelope.
