Position Overview

MILCO (Pvt) Ltd invites applications from qualified employees currently in permanent service for the post of Extension Officer (JM 1-1). This key role is responsible for overseeing field extension services, driving milk collection productivity, and managing farmer partnerships across regional operations.

Key Responsibilities & Core Duties

• Staff Oversight: Direct, monitor, and supervise the day-to-day field operations of dairy instructors.

• Farmer Federation Engagement: Supervise and coordinate farmer federation activities to strengthen producer networks.

• Milk Procurement: Manage and optimize raw milk collection processes to maintain operational efficiency and quality standards.

• FMS Operations: Monitor and streamline Farm Management System (FMS) activities to ensure effectiveness and reliability.

Qualification & Experience Profiles

Applicants must satisfy Option A or Option B below:

Option A: Academic / Technical Qualifications Route

Candidates qualifying through this route must meet any one of the following four criteria:

1. University Degree:

   • A Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, or an equivalent relevant degree recognized by the UGC of Sri Lanka.

2. NVQ Level 7:

   • A Certificate of Proficiency in Agriculture, Livestock, or Animal Husbandry at not less than National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 7, issued by a TVEC-accepted training institute.

3. NVQ Level 6 + 5 Years Experience:

   • A Certificate of Proficiency in Agriculture, Livestock, or Animal Husbandry at NVQ Level 6 from a TVEC-accepted training institute.

   • At least five (5) years of post-qualifying experience in the dairy development field within the Public Service, a Corporation, a Statutory Board, or a reputed private institution.

4. NVQ Level 5 + 10 Years Experience:

   • A Certificate of Proficiency in Agriculture, Livestock, or Animal Husbandry at NVQ Level 5 from a TVEC-accepted training institute.

   • At least ten (10) years of post-qualifying experience in the dairy development field within the Public Service, a Corporation, a Statutory Board, or a reputed private institution.

Option B: MILCO Internal Service Experience Route

• Completion of at least fifteen (15) years of satisfactory service in the supervisory category within the production, quality, or dairy fields at MILCO.

• Must include at least five (5) years of confirmed service in the "Management Assistant Technological" (MA 2-3) Grade II category.
