Job Vacancy: Temporary Assistant Lecturer – University of Colombo

• Position: Temporary Assistant Lecturer.
• Number of Vacancies: 01 Post.
• Appointment Type: Temporary / time-specific contract initially for 6 months (renewable up to a maximum of 18 additional months based on performance and need).
• Basic Salary: LKR 85,305/= p.m. (Salary Code: U-AC 2) + Cost of Living Allowance, UPF, and ETF.

Educational Qualifications & Requirements

• Degree Specialization: Degree specializing in English, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), or Linguistics (English).
• Class Honours Requirement:
• First Class or Second Class (Upper Division) Honours, OR
• Second Class (Lower Division) Honours.
• Language Proficiency: Ability to work in both Sinhala and English.
• Key Skills: Required IT literacy and effective teaching skills.
