EXECUTIVE – MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT (Based at Biyagama)

A dedicated vertical of MAS Holdings, MAS Kreeda produces revolutionary high-performance sportswear for Nike- one of the leading sports brands in the world.

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the KREEDA team as a EXECUTIVE – MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT! This role would enable you to initiate and complete all the seasonal material development requests from the customer and work on the innovation range for every combined season to delight the customer with the newness & functionality while ensuring all performance parameters, company profitability, best lead time and production viability on all developed materials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaise with the NIKE USA material developer and Liaison Office (LO) material developer to ensure the customer need is met and the material development cycle is completed prior to the bulk order is placed there by maintaining customer relationship. 
  • Source or develop materials as per the material team requests with vertical suppliers to meet seasonal time lines.
  • Ensure developed materials are meeting all NIKE testing requirements and the testings are completed to meet the buy-ready deadlines.
  • Maintain the records of all buy ready materials in the files and in the hanger library for easy access.
  • Maintain the price records for all developed materials and maintain an average 6% margin & best minimum order quantity (MOQ) / minimum color quantity (MCQ) for all vertical materials.
  • Liaise with the material quality team to ensure all new fabric PP meetings are conducted & documented in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Submit fabric and relevant details to relevant Teams in order to raise purchase orders.
  • Develop Innovative materials to impress NIKE to adopt from LMAS for their core garment ranges.
  • Work closely with fabric vendors to upgrade existing material with new solutions in order to extend the lifecycle of the fabric.
  • Ensure that the environment, safety and health standards of the organization are adhered to while actively contribute towards promoting a culture of safety and environmental consciousness within and outside the organization.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Degree/ Diploma in Textile & Clothing or relevant professional Qualification. 
  • 3 – 4 Years of relevant work experience (Experience in fabric mill/ manufacturing plant would be advantageous).
  • Knowledge of Fabric Construction Analysis and interpretation – Essential. 
  • Negotiation skills.
  • IT Literacy.
