SENIOR FABRIC TECHNOLOGIST (MDS,RATHMALANA)

Empower transformation by becoming a driving force of change at MAS. We are actively seeking an individual to join our dynamic team of changemakers as a Senior Fabric Technologist.
This role would enable you to ensure smooth flow of Sourcing & Development of Raw Material/Color, by identifying potential risk and providing solutions to enable profitability, while guiding and training fabric technologist of specific account.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source competitive raw material options according to seasonal trends & fulfilling technical / aesthetic aspects of the product whilst adhering to customer performance protocols to support the growth & retention of the business.
- Develop /counter develop & re-engineer raw materials to meet customer /business expectations & negotiate with suppliers to make improvements to the existing products & services to support the business growth
- Set standards and tolerances for relevant embellishments, raw material conversions in agreement with all relevant stake holders.
- Evaluate raw material risk assessment & confirm RM feasibility for moulding, bonding & other technologies related to product development process to ensure bulk feasibility.
- Evaluate all regulatory & non-regulatory testing related to raw materials and product safety in line with the brand requirements.
- Define Raw material Specification sheet to align with customer protocols/ Product Performance and finalize Quality approval.
- Ensure execution of colour development process, initiate colour level raw material risk assessment and conduct necessary testing to meet product protocol in timely manner.
- Analyze the test results to identify appropriate garment care code/ composition and update customer portal for label ordering and garment manufacturing.
- Collect and maintain chemical level information/compliance certificates with regards to relevant product ranges.
- Guide fabric techs to ensure and update necessary technical documents in the customer portals/MAS systems.
- Actively connect and provide feedback on critical areas during pre-production discussions, with the relevant suppliers and manufacturing plants.
- Maintain RM collection and suitable supplier bases for agile business model.
- Review supplier score cards periodically & work on trend analysis.
- Decision making on product/ production related matters in agreement with the relevant stake holders, while seeking the guidance of the superiors if required.
- Extend contribution to superiors, to resolve recurring concerns of products /production.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- B.sc Degree or Diploma in Textile engineering or relevant area
- 2- 4 years’ work experience in a similar capacity within the Garment Industry
- Good communication skills and soft skills
