Manager / Senior Manager – Actuarial

About the Role

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as Manager / Senior Manager – Actuarial. The successful candidate will initially lead the implementation and ongoing management of IFRS 17 reporting, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
  • In addition, the role will provide actuarial insights to support strategic decision-making, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to the growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability of the insurance business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of IFRS 17 requirements, integrating data, actuarial models, and accounting systems for financial reporting and business planning.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of actuarial and financial outputs under IFRS 17.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on actuarial analysis.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, actuarial standards of practice.
  • Mentor, coach, and guide actuarial team members, fostering a culture of professional development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, IT, and Operations to support business objectives.
  • Monitor and assess industry trends, regulatory developments, and market changes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree in Actuarial Science and/or partly or fully qualified member of an internationally recognized actuarial professional body.
  • Minimum 6 – 8 years’ experience in actuarial roles within the life insurance industry.
  • Strong knowledge of actuarial modelling, financial reporting, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with actuarial software and related analytical tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with strong communication skills.
  • High standards of integrity, accountability, and commitment.
