Sabaragamuwa Provincial Public Service Commission: Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to Grade III of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Public Management Service Officer Service – 2026

The Provincial Public Service Commission of Sabaragamuwa Province has issued a gazette notice inviting applications from qualified candidates for the Open Competitive Examination to recruit Management Service Officers (Grade III). This examination will be conducted concurrently with the open competitive examination for Grade III of the combined Management Service Officer Service by the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Residency: Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka with at least 3 years of continuous permanent residency in the Sabaragamuwa Province within the last 5 years preceding the closing date (or spouse residing permanently in the province for the preceding 3 years).
  • Age Limit: Between 18 and 35 years as of October 09, 2026 (born between October 09, 1991, and October 09, 2008).
  • Educational Qualifications:
  • Passed 6 subjects at the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in one sitting with credit passes in 4 subjects, including Language (Sinhala/Tamil/English) and Mathematics.
  • Passed all subjects at the G.C.E. (A/L) examination in one sitting (excluding General English and Common General Test).
  • Quota for Differently-Abled Persons: 3% of vacancies are reserved for eligible differently-abled candidates who meet the specified cut-off criteria.

Examination Scheme

The examination will be held in Sinhala, Tamil, and English (candidates must sit all subjects in one chosen medium):

  1. Language Aptitude (Paper 01): 2½ Hours | 100 Marks (Testing language comprehension, vocabulary, essay writing, letter drafting, summarization, and basic grammar).
  2. Aptitude (Paper 02): 1 Hour | 100 Marks (50 multiple-choice and short-answer questions testing logical reasoning, arithmetic ability, and general intelligence).

Candidates must obtain a minimum of 40% for each paper and an overall aggregate of at least 50% to be eligible for appointment consideration based on merit and district population quotas.
