Sri Lanka Department of Labour: Limited Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the Post of Assistant Commissioner of Labour (Departmental) – Grade III of Executive Service Category – 2026

The Public Service Commission invites online applications from eligible Grade I Labour Officers currently in active service in the Department of Labour to fill 09 vacancies for the post of Assistant Commissioner of Labour (Grade III) under the limited stream.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a confirmed Grade I Labour Officer in active service as of October 23, 2026.
• Minimum of 10 years of active and satisfactory service as a Labour Officer.
• Satisfactory performance rating and earned all salary increments during the preceding 5 years.
• Completion of all relevant Efficiency Bar (EB) examinations and clear of disciplinary penalties.

Examination Structure

The written examination comprises three question papers (minimum 40% pass mark for each):

1. Labour Law (3 Hours – 100 Marks)
2. General Intelligence (1 Hour – 100 Marks)
3. Management Aptitude (2 Hours – 100 Marks)

Candidates who pass the written test will be called for a structured interview where marks will be allocated for additional active service. Final selection is based on the aggregate merit of the written exam and structured interview.
