Job Role
- Support the implementation of the Risk Management Framework.
- Adopt and embed a detailed Operational Risk Management Framework including the definition and measurement of predictive key risk indicators, operational risk modelling, scenario analysis, risk and control self-assessments.
- Define, monitor and report on risk appetite and its application in the business addressing the business strategy and growth objectives.
- Support and escalation of incidents and breaches, overseeing the entity’s incidents and root cause analysis as applicable.
- Act as a trusted adviser and partner to business functions to provide professional and practical risk advice and guidance to identify and mitigate risks within the business.
- Drive improvement and enhancements in risk management practices and behaviors aligning with regulatory mandates, industry standards, while continuously monitoring key risk indicators and delivering strategic insights to senior leadership and the Board.
- Serve as the company’s Data Protection Officer, driving the enhancement of data privacy frameworks, ensuring adherence to evolving data protection regulations, and strengthening overall organizational resilience.
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance internal control frameworks to fortify the organization against existing and emerging risk exposures.
- Prepare comprehensive analytical risk reports, detailing risk landscapes, mitigation strategies, compliance status, and recommendations for executive and Board-level decision-making.
- Lead, and continuously strengthen the Business Continuity Plan, ensuring organizational readiness through structured continuity planning, scenario analysis, and regular testing and simulations.
Job Pre-Requisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, Actuarial Science, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- A master’s degree or professional qualification such as CERA, FRM, CRM, CII, or Actuarial certifications (part-qualified or fully qualified) will be a strong advantage.
- Minimum 8–12 years of progressive experience in enterprise risk management within the insurance or financial services sector, including at least 3–5 years in a senior managerial or leadership position.
- Deep understanding of IRCSL regulations, corporate governance guidelines, and enterprise risk management principles.
- Hands-on experience in risk modelling, stress testing, and capital management.
- Proven ability to collaborate with regulators, Board committees, and senior leadership with high levels of confidence and credibility.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and strategic decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with a strong track record of developing and managing high-performing teams.
