Assistant Manager – Financial Reporting
Job Description
Job Profile:
- Prepare Annual/Quarterly/Monthly Financial Statements of the Bank based on applicable financial reporting methodologies for internal and external use
- Prepare financial information for monthly Board Papers and other management reporting requirements
- Submission of Statutory Returns to the Central Bank, including Liquidity Returns
- Review/perform financial asset impairment calculations (SLFRS 9) and other SLFRS-related calculations such as EIR on financial liabilities, staff loan fair value adjustments, rent calculations (SLFRS 16), etc.
- Liaise with external and internal auditors and regulators on financial statement-related matters
- Financial covenants reporting to foreign lending institutions
- Assist in new accounting standards implementation
- Coordinate with other departments to prepare and publish the Annual Report and Quarterly Financial Statements of the Bank to meet statutory deadlines.
Entry Requirements
Candidate Criteria:
- An Associate Member of CA Sri Lanka or ACCA
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized university will be an added advantage
- A minimum of 4–5 years of relevant experience in financial statement preparation within a banking or finance environment, or with a reputed audit firm or commercial establishment
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices in the Banking and Finance sector, including IFRS, SLFRS, LKAS, and CBSL reporting requirements
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Ability to work independently and deliver results under minimal supervision
