Job Description

To assist Facilities Engineer (Civil) in fabricating, maintaining, and repairing small structures, non-structural elements of large industrial buildings, roofs, ceilings, gutters, steel structural and non-structural elements to ensure their serviceability.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Perform electric/oxyacetylene welding to maintain civil structural components including trusses, purlins, columns, brackets & gates ensuring their sound condition.
• Repair roofs, gutters, downpipes, and other components to prevent water leaks and ensure proper water drainage.
• Attend carpentry work including constructing partition, repairing doors, windows, wooden counters, changing lockers, repairing steel cupboards and maintain wheelchairs with subordinate staff.
• Contribute to on-time execution by attending scheduled and ad-hoc repair jobs related to roof and structures.
• Responsible for the maintenance and safety of the welding plant and associated accessories, ensuring they are kept in good condition and comply with safety standards.
  

Requirements

6 passes at GCE O/L with 3 Credits in one sitting including a simple pass for English & Mathematics and one-year full time technical course (NVQ level 4) in relevant field with two years relevant working experience.

The upper age limit should be 32 years as at closing date 15th January 2024.

Be a Sri Lankan Citizen.

Employment will be offered on fixed term contract.
