Manager – Raw Material Development & Sourcing

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the MAS Capital Intimates – Ratmalana as Manager – Raw Material Development & Sourcing to provide Raw material expertise for wider scope of customers, suppliers and stake holders by adapting/creating initiatives that are strategically and operationally important to bring in benefits for the SBU/Group through nurturing and guiding respective technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire raw material sourcing and developments process in a strategic manner, by working  in collaboration with all cross functional teams within the stipulated timeframe whilst attracting customer with the uniqueness of MAS Intimates sourcing capability and win new business to contribute to the profitability of the business
• due to RM impact Implement systems and procedures to conduct proper RM risk assessments to provide solutions /alternative options to mitigate any risks during production stage.
• Define and establish testing methods/ protocols to align with product/end use/ regulatory and compliance requirements, while connecting with customer for technical limitations and set up benchmark for production.
• Ensure on delivering the right quality products by meeting customer/business expectations, while aligning to quality standards based on regulatory and compliance requirements. 
• Ensure correct care/fibre content label details are offered according to the brand protocols in a timely manner
• Engaging with suppliers and relevant internal teams periodically, to enhance Built in Quality (BIQ) initiatives within the supply chain to ensure smooth flow of  production. 
• Strategically manage entire supply chain and regularly connect with business & customers, while maintaining a supplier framework for agile and MMNC (Small scale) models
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic and non- strategic suppliers & connect frequently to asses & align with business opportunities
• Strategically drive suppliers to remain in existing business portions, and expand to new businesses based on score card performance 
• Validate the outcomes derived at evaluations/audits at production facilities of potential new suppliers/ current suppliers, and strategically plan out to utilize suppliers strengths/ capabilities in optimum manner to get the maximum benefit to MAS & customers
• Provide technical input and negotiate pricing, MOQ/MCQ and lead times for MOU agreements to be drafted with customers and suppliers
• Regularly connect with the team and provide day to day guidance as and when required to ensure achievement of set objectives within the stipulated timeframe
• Provide decisions for critical bulk raw material related call outs to continue smooth production flow
• Provide operational guidelines & compliance requirements to subcontract plants to deliver right quality product in timely manner.
• Take lead in driving multiple strategic projects within MAS Intimates and at an MAS Holdings level, whilst working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of project outcomes
• Work in collaboration with stakeholders to identify strategic initiatives/ improvements to systems and processes while promoting the culture of continuous improvement across MAS Intimates and at a group level
• Oversee employee wellbeing, ensure un-biasness and timely completion of all HR activities which includes performance management, learning and development, succession management and compensation and benefit
• Act as a mentor by imparting acquired knowledge, guiding, and coaching the team to think out of the box and identify initiatives/ process improvements that contribute to an increase in efficiency thereby supporting the achievement of departmental & organizational objectives.
• Create a brand equity for MAS with the customers to facilitate achievement of MAS’s mission
• Prepare annual departmental budgets, monitor, and authorize expenses to ensure adherence to the approved provisions

Qualifications, Experience, Skill and Competencies:

• Degree / Postgraduate Qualification in Textile
• 8-10 years of related work experience in the apparel Industry 
• Versatile in sourcing, Colour management, development and with good operational know how 
• Previous experience in Raw Material product development
• Good communication skills with all stakeholders
