FOOD TECHNOLOGIST – RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Beverages and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.

The company seeks for a suitable candidate to fill the positions of Food Technologist – Research & Development The position will be based in Ranala.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test food/beverage packaging solutions for  new and existing products.
• Ensure the product development process is maintained to deliver customer/consumer needs.
• Liaise with international and local  food/beverage  packaging manufacturers, food regulatory authority and ingredient suppliers to ensure that the best systems, processes and materials are used.
• Assist in designing, developing and implementing quality and food safety management systems related to new product development process.
• Responsible for maintaining applicable ISO requirements related to QMS, FSMS, EMS & Occupational Health and Safety Management System in respective area.

Person Specifications

• Degree in Food Science
• Minimum 1 – 2 years’ packaging development and testing experience in R & D department of a large scale FMCG business
• Exposure to Product development, Packaging development, Manufacturing operations, Quality assurance procedures and reasonable understanding on Sri Lankan  food regulations
• Excellent planning and  organizing skills, innovative  and positive mind-set, ability to quickly adapt  to changing business requirements.
• Knowledge of critical processes of Food and Beverage Manufacturing Industry will be an added advantage.
