Senior Garment Technologist
Job Description
🎯 The Job: Core Purpose
The Senior Garment Technologist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of pattern making, from development until bulk patterns are handed over to the production plant. The core purpose is to ensure:
- Timely Delivery: Timely delivery of samples in the correct quality.
- Consumption Accuracy: Accurate consumption orders for trims are provided, and approved patterns are passed to the marker maker for fabric consumption.
📝 Key Responsibilities
The role requires advanced technical expertise and coordination:
- Pattern & Grading: Create patterns and grading according to the customer’s specification and grading rule.
- Production Flow: Follow a smooth pattern making process from development to bulk approved stage and hand over the final pattern to the production plant.
- Feasibility: Work closely with the Development team to ensure that the style is developed in feasible production-able methods.
- Technical Standards: Work with Technicians, Garment Technologists, and Industrial Engineers to establish improved quality and technical standards for the development and production of new styles.
- Service: Communicate with relevant internal departments to deliver a comprehensive service to both the factory and the end customer.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Possess sound technical knowledge with a Textile Degree/Diploma from a recognized institute.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar capacity with a sound understanding of pattern making, grading, and knowledge of sewing.
- Experience in pattern making and grading in a similar product category, such as active wear or performance wear, along with extensive knowledge of bonding technology, would be an added advantage.
