Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Layer Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our farm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture, animal husbandry, or veterinary science, with at least five years of managerial experience. This role requires a self-driven individual who can work independently and live on-site in company-provided accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily farm operations in accordance with established standard operating procedures and poultry guidelines.
• Ensure sheds are prepared on time and receive the required rest periods.
• Follow production plans for intake, production, and culling.
• Inspect the quality of pullets upon receipt and take appropriate actions as needed.
• Achieve required body and egg weights.
• Maintain mortality and shrinkage percentages below target levels.
• Oversee general medication management.
• Achieve all farm performance targets.
• Manage overall farm inventory, including the layers housed.
• Maintain shed performance and batch file recording.
• Perform batch file analysis and recommend improvements.
• Ensure full compliance with Bio Security procedures.
• Supervise and control farm employees.
• Conduct employee training and development.
• Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
• Address and rectify farm nonconformance identified through internal auditing programs.

Key Competency Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, or Veterinary Science.
• At least 5 years of managerial experience in a similar role.
• Mature, self-driven, and able to perform without supervision.
• Willingness to live in company-provided accommodation on the farm.
• Ability to perform shift work and additional duties as required.
