⚙️ Job Opening: Head of Operations – Africa

This is a recruitment advertisement from the LOLC Group, a leading conglomerate, seeking a Head of Operations to be responsible for driving operational excellence and ensuring the smooth execution of the company’s strategic objectives in a designated country within the African region.

The role is a foreign assignment for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join the LOLC team overseas.


💼 The Role (Key Responsibilities)

The Head of Operations will focus on optimizing efficiency, strengthening governance and compliance standards, and supporting cross-functional teams to achieve sustainable growth. This requires a dynamic and experienced leader with strong operational management expertise. Key functions include:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to support the company’s growth and performance objectives.
  • Oversee the effectiveness and efficiency of core business functions, including central operations, credit operations, risk management, customer service, and technology deployment.
  • Ensure operational compliance with local regulatory frameworks and corporate governance standards.
  • Drive process optimization, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scalability, customer experience, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with senior management to define and monitor operational KPIs, financial targets, and risk management frameworks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, partners, and key stakeholders in the operating country.
  • Support new market entries, product rollouts, and business integrations, ensuring operational readiness, compliance, and sustainability.

✅ Ideal Candidates Should Have (Qualifications and Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or a related discipline; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience in operations management, including at least 3 years in a senior regional or multi-country leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead large, diverse teams across broad operational functions.
  • Strong background in process improvement, operational risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in driving efficiency, growth, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • High adaptability, resilience, and cultural awareness to operate effectively across diverse African markets.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

📍 Location & Compensation

  • Work Location: A designated country in Africa (on-site, with accommodation and local support provided).
  • Compensation: An attractive remuneration will be provided, including a return air ticket and a living allowance for the selected candidate.
