Head of IT – Lake House
Job Summary
- Organization: The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (Lake House)
- Position: Head of IT
- Age Limit: Less than 55 years at the date of closing application
Qualifications & Requirements
Must possess one of the following criteria:
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science & Networking, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a Managerial position. OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science & Networking, or a related field with 6 years of relevant experience in a Managerial position. OR
- Professional membership from CSSL (Computer Society of Sri Lanka) with 6 years of relevant experience in a Managerial position. OR
- Relevant NVQ 07 qualification with 8 years of relevant experience in a Managerial position.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the company’s IT strategy, aligning it with overall business goals.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire the IT team while fostering excellence and innovation.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee networks, servers, and data storage to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Security & Compliance: Implement robust security measures to protect systems/data and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Technology Innovation & Digitalization: Plan, implement, and manage digitalization projects, process automations, and emerging technologies.
- Budget & Vendor Management: Manage the IT budget, allocate resources, negotiate contracts, and manage third-party vendor relationships.
Required Skills
Technical / Hard Skills:
- IT Infrastructure Management: In-depth knowledge of servers, networking, and data storage systems.
- Cyber Security: Expertise in cybersecurity practices, system security, and data protection standards.
- Cisco & Emerging Technologies: Strong technical grasp of Cisco network environments and modern tech solutions.
- Digitalization & Automation: Hands-on ability to plan and drive digital transformation and process automation projects.
Soft & Leadership Skills:
- Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving: Ability to handle critical decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership & People Management: Strong leadership abilities to guide, mentor, and motivate IT professionals.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Vendor Negotiation & Budgeting: Negotiation skills for vendor contracts and financial acumen to control IT costs.
