💰 Job Opening: Head of Finance – Africa
This is a recruitment advertisement from the LOLC Group, a leading conglomerate, seeking a Head of Finance to be responsible for overseeing and managing the complete financial function of the Group’s operations in a designated country within the African region.
The role is a foreign assignment for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join the LOLC team overseas.
💼 The Role (Key Responsibilities)
The Head of Finance will manage the complete financial function, including strategic planning, budgeting, compliance, and treasury management. It requires strong leadership, analytical capability, and a thorough understanding of local regulatory and tax frameworks. Key functions include:
- Leading the finance function in the assigned country, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance in all financial activities.
- Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company’s business objectives and long-term growth.
- Oversee financial reporting, management accounting, and variance analysis in accordance with respective accounting standards and Group reporting timelines.
- Maintain up-to-date reconciliations of financial accounts and bank statements.
- Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring business targets are supported by realistic and achievable financial plans.
- Monitor and manage liquidity, cash flow, and banking relationships to optimize working capital and funding requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, regulators, and financial institutions to ensure timely and accurate compliance reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements, and implement internal audit recommendations.
- Establish and maintain effective internal control systems to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Guide, mentor, and develop the finance team to enhance functional capability, leadership depth, and succession readiness.
- Provide business leaders with financial insights and decision support for strategic initiatives, investments, and expansion efforts.
✅ Ideal Candidates Should Have (Qualifications and Experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA is essential.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in a senior managerial capacity.
- Proven expertise in financial planning, reporting, taxation, and compliance, preferably within the financial services or banking sector.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking abilities.
- Experience managing cross-border financial operations and familiarity with Group reporting structures will be an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- High degree of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
📍 Location & Compensation
- Work Location: A designated country in Africa (on-site, with accommodation and local support provided).
- Compensation: An attractive remuneration will be provided, including a return air ticket and a living allowance for the selected candidate.
