Assistant Manager – Engineering (Automation & Innovation)

The Assistant Manager – Engineering (Automation & Innovation) is responsible for managing the automation engineering functions at the Brandix Knit Centre (BKC) to the highest standards. This role oversees the Automation and Innovation teams, as well as the sewing machinery functions. The Assistant Manager is expected to introduce innovative strategies and solutions aligned with business requirements and lead technical validations of sewing operations during the sample development stages. The position also plays a key role in driving Smart Factory initiatives, including real-time data tracking systems and the development of smart visual dashboards. Additionally, the Assistant Manager leads the PDC engineering team to achieve and sustain required performance levels. This role is also accountable for maintaining strong relationships with relevant factories and providing necessary support to ensure machine availability, effective project planning and execution, and successful implementation of group-wide automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Drive the central Automation and the Innovation team to full fill the business requirements with innovative and strategic solutions.
• Responsible for technical validation with sewing feasible methods at the sample development stages.
• Developing the smart factory initiatives such as real time data tracking sample room management system and the power BI dash boards.
• Plan and deploy plant sewing and non sewing automation engineering requirements, including objectives, budgets and improvement projects.
• Support other locations in executing engineering projects, including CAPEX proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in the automation engineering function.
• At least 1+ years of experience in machine maintenance, engineering design and automation projects.
