🌍 Job Opening: Country Head – Africa

This is a recruitment advertisement from the LOLC Group, a leading conglomerate in Sri Lanka, for a Country Head to lead all aspects of the company’s operations in a designated country within the African region.

The role is for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and hardworking individual to become a true multinational in Sri Lanka and undertake a foreign assignment in LOLC’s overseas entities.


💼 The Role (Key Responsibilities)

The Country Head will be responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s operations, encompassing:

  • Strategic planning, business development, and regulatory compliance.
  • Financial performance and team management.
  • Developing and executing the company’s strategic plan and overall direction.
  • Overseeing operations including loan origination, underwriting, servicing, collections, deposit-mobilizing operation, and customer service.
  • Managing and developing employees through effective recruitment, training, performance management, motivation, and retention.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders (investors, regulators, and community partners).
  • Providing regular performance updates to the Board.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Managing financial performance, including budgeting, profitability, portfolio quality, liquidity management, and risk oversight.

✅ Ideal Candidates Should Have (Qualifications and Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a related discipline; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior management, with at least 5 years in a similar leadership role vetted by respective regulatory bodies.
  • Proven experience in managing financial services operations, preferably within regulated or rapidly evolving markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze markets and successful lead expansion and growth initiatives.
  • Strong strategic planning and business acumen, with an in-depth understanding of macroeconomic and operational performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead diverse teams.
  • Exposure in foreign operations will be an added advantage.
  • Strong commitment to governance, compliance, and ethical business practices.

📍 Location & Compensation

  • Location: A designated country in Africa (on-site).
  • Compensation: An attractive remuneration package will be provided, including accommodation and local support. A return air ticket and a living allowance will also be provided for the selected candidate.
