Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the HNBGI’s compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including the insurance industry act, IRCSL requirements, AML /CFT related laws.
  • Ensure HNBGI has a comprehensive compliance checklist and ensure the completeness of the compliance checklist as appropriate allow up on the communication and submissions with the regulators and ensure HNBGI complies with the given timelines.
  • Review all compliance submissions to IRCSL before submission.
  • Ensure that HNBGI’s compliance with applicable policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure timely updated policies and procedure manuals are available for all key operational areas of the company and follow up on the implementation.
  • Ensure HNBGI’s compliance activities are carried out in line with the compliance policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Periodically conduct compliance reviews to ensure execution of compliance standards.
  • Assist company’s annual report writing activities such as corporate governance and other related areas pertaining to general insurance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance and professional qualifications in Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit.
  • 6 years of experience in the field of auditing, compliance and finance, and preferably having more than 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity within the insurance industry.
  • Insurance, banking and finance industry experience in the areas of Legal, Compliance, Risk Management and Internal Audit.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework applicable to the insurance industry in Sri Lanka, regulations, and other applicable regulations for a limited company.
