About the Role:
H Connect International, a leading BPO company and a subsidiary of the Hirdaramani Group, is seeking a skilled Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with Australian clients. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of tax software systems such as XERO, XPM, and MYOB.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review individual tax returns in compliance with Australian taxation laws and regulations.
- Communicate directly with clients to gather necessary information and clarify tax-related queries.
- Resolve issues and correspond with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regarding assessments, outstanding payments, and other matters.
- Utilize the tax agent portal proficiently for lodging returns and accessing prefilling reports from the ATO.
- Calculate PAYG instalments, work from home expenses, motor vehicle deductions, capital gains/losses, taxation on shares and investments, dividends and franking, foreign tax credits, tax residency issues, and other relevant tax components.
- Advise on superannuation contribution deductions, Medicare levy matters, medical insurance premiums, Division 293 laws, and treatment of franking credits.
- Possess knowledge of VISA categories affecting tax liabilities and deductions.
- Identify tax planning opportunities for high-net-worth clients to optimize their tax position within legal frameworks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Australian or Philippines CPA preferred but not essential.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in preparing individual tax returns in Australia.
- High proficiency in using XERO, XPM, MYOB, MS Office, and other relevant tax software.
- Strong understanding of Australian tax laws and regulations, with a focus on individual taxation.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with Australian clients and authorities.
- Experience in dealing with complex tax matters.
- Familiarity with tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals.
- Prior experience in a remote or virtual work environment.
- Ability to liaise effectively with other staff members handling business groups.
