About the Role:
Sri Lanka Insurance Life, the nation’s leading life insurance provider, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Manager Actuarial to lead the actuarial aspects of our IFRS17 implementation project. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the actuarial component of the IFRS17 implementation project.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, IT, and operations, to ensure alignment between actuarial processes and other project initiatives.
- Oversee the development and enhancement of actuarial models for the valuation and measurement of insurance contracts under IFRS17.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation of actuarial assumptions, models, and results for IFRS17 reporting.
- Engage with stakeholders, including senior management, auditors, and regulatory bodies, to communicate actuarial results and address inquiries.
- Conduct reviews and quality assurance checks on actuarial calculations and models to ensure compliance with IFRS17 requirements.
Qualifications & Prerequisites:
- Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
- At least three years of experience in the actuarial profession, with a minimum of one year in an assistant manager or higher role.
- Master’s degree in actuarial science or completion of at least four subjects in a professional qualification framework of an internationally recognized actuarial institute.
- Prior experience in IFRS17 implementation, such as position paper preparation, software solution calibration, and financial disclosures, is an added advantage.
- Proven experience in actuarial roles within the insurance industry, including RBC reporting, cash flow model development, and product pricing, is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Preferably below 36 years of age.
